The plant is native to Madagascar, growing as an evergreen shrub in rocky terrain. The plant’s small leaves result from its adaptation to the dry and rocky conditions in which it grows in the wild.

In the wild, Kalanchoe marmorata tiger is a small shrub that grows up to 3 feet tall and has small, thick, and waxy green leaves with dark maroon spots, giving it the appearance of a tiger’s skin. The plant produces clusters of small, star-shaped, pink or white flowers on long stems in the summer months.
