Large Rattlesnake Plant & Tembesi Pot

We love this amazingly striking variegated house plant! The Rattlesnake plant – Calathea Lancifolia – has fresh green leaves with darker green stripes and burgundy colouring on the underside. Called the Rattlesnake plant because of the markings on the leaves which look a bit like the patterns on a rattlesnake’s skin – it’s stunning to have in your home and will be much admired by any visitor!

Originating in Brazil, Calathea Lancifolia it perfect as a taste of the tropical rainforest – and also as a part of any forest bathing experience. You can enjoy the benefits of the rainforest inside your own home and feel the power that houseplants can have on psychological health and wellbeing.

You may be lucky enough to get flowers as in its natural habitat this great big leaf house plant has beautiful flowers – we can’t guarantee flowers but they are beautiful when they come!

Where should I put this plant?

It needs bright but indirect light – if it’s put in full sun the leaves may curl up and burn.

How should I water it?

Water when the top few inches are dry to the touch and then soak and allow to drain. The soil needs to be kept moist but do not let it sit in water.

Should I feed it?

You can feed in spring and summer – try our vegan, organic plant food!

Is it suitable if I have pets?

Yes! This plant is great if you have cats or dogs.
