Dieffenbachia White Etna *Rare*

This wonderfully interesting houseplant is really stunning with its dark, forest green and white flecked variegation – we really love it! This Dieffenbachia is also known as the Dumb Cane plant- for a fascinating reason! This houseplant produces a poison in its leaves that can temporarily numb the vocal cords if it’s eaten – hence the name Dumb Cane!  Don’t feel intimidated – just don’t eat it! Certainly a good bit of trivia for a dinner party though!

It’s an absolutely gorgeously stylish houseplant – and it brings to your home the style of a similar plant such as variegated Monstera while being a little easier to care for – it doesn’t require such constant humidity. It really is a show-stopper with its wonderful variegation – there is almost nothing like it even amongst other large-leaved variegated houseplants. Not surprising it’s so sought after for magazine shoots and other photographic events!

This wonderful houseplant loves high or direct light – lots of light is needed especially with variegated plants.

How much should I water it?
As usual with tropical plants, water only when the top couple of inches of the soil is dry, don’t let it sit in water.

Should I feed this plant?
You can feed once a month during spring and summer – we do vegan, organic plant food!

Is it suitable if I have pets?
No, unfortunately, it can be toxic to pets.
